How To Calculate Inverter For Home

How to Calculate Inverter for Home

Calculating the right inverter for your home is crucial to ensure reliable power supply during outages. Our calculator simplifies this process.

  1. Enter your home’s power consumption in kW.
  2. Enter the power factor (usually between 0.7 and 0.95).
  3. Select the inverter type.
  4. Click ‘Calculate’.

The calculator uses the formula: Inverter Size (kVA) = Power Consumption (kW) / Power Factor. It then adjusts for the inverter type’s efficiency.

Power Consumption (kW) Power Factor Inverter Type Calculated Inverter Size (kVA)
5 0.8 Sine Wave 6.25
Inverter Type Efficiency (%)
Sine Wave 95-98
  • Always round up to the nearest whole number when selecting an inverter.
  • Consider future expansion needs when choosing an inverter.
What is power factor?

Power factor is the ratio of real power (used to do work) to apparent power (the total power supplied to a circuit).
